That little cut (or sizeable lop!) off your pay cheque - sometimes once a month or once a year - that goes towards the upkeep of the government and the lives of your fellow countrymen, in one way or another. The grand dame of boogeymen that creep into your bill pile, this is the only sure thing in this life. You know, besides death.
